Rishikesh is just not only the beautiful place to visit. It is one of the oldest places known for yogic and meditative — and the centre where one can study the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the Patanjali Yoga sutras, the only sanctum sanctorum of living tradition still exist. Sages and monks have practiced yoga and meditation over more than 1000 years. Yogis still feel that energy left by our gurus when they practice on very first day.

Practicing meditation in Rishikesh where its originated feels like this is the place where yogic science was born. The sound of water flowing in the holy River Ganges, the cooling air from the Himalayas, the silence on ghats, the yoga community, the spiritual seekers from all over the world — this is just not the coincidence. All these are pure ingredients forms needed to transform the retreat.

At Abhyantara we combine this amazing environment with well planned, led by incredible teaching through six meditation traditions: Yoga Nidra, Pranayama, Mantra, Trataka, Vipassana, and mindfulness. You will not get only skills but a whole understanding — the philosophy on which we keep working behind practice, the science that explain deeply about it, and the individual narration which makes it yours only.

Abhyantara Yoga has crafted this retreat to revive your body, help mind to get stable and show real path towards spiritual experience. Every morning start with traditional hatha yoga — prepare your body strong enough to become stable for sitting long hours. Practicing of daily pranayama help you to balance your vital energy so it can flow easily within the body. Early afternoon class shows you the roadmap so that your practice becomes more intelligent, not something like instructed by someone.

Be a part of this amazing journey to know more about meditation. Improve your knowledge on different path by spending valuable time in Rishikesh, and exploring the holy town and the places where are sages have spent time. We specially recommending this retreat for you.

Sattvic Ayurvedic food — Nourishment Supports practice

Mindful eating the food are just not a part of guidelines at Abhyantara Yoga — It is the most important part of retreat at this centre to experienced. It is already mention in ayurvedic and Vedic tradition that quality of your mind depends on your food. Sattvic food always help to body into lightness and promote clarity of mind — all these are prerequisites for deep practice into the meditation.

A sattvic food avoids everything that promotes heaviness in the body or upset the mind: no food like garlic, onion, packed food, and caffeine should avoided. Instead of this you should eat nuts, lentils, seasonal able vegetable, fruits, grain and herbal etc. Our chef prepared only ayurvedic food in the kitchen because he knows the importance of food during the retreat.

We recommended total quietness eating environment i.e. without mobile, soft natural light coming from outside — this kind of mealtimes becomes whole meditation like states. Staying committed during these 7 days you will notice your mind is getting sharpening, emotionally you become soft, your awareness is growing day by day — even faster day by day that even any technique won’t work like this.
